Nonna Maria's is my GO TO place for authentic Italian cuisine. The ingredients are FRESH and the food is made when you SIT DOWN in the restaurant; not two days before, not one week before, not frozen, 100% FRESH. This is a family run and family owned restaurant. Domenic (owner) is seriously the loveliest gentleman ever. First time I ever came here was for my birthday this year (Feb 2017) at the recommendation of a friend and I came with said friend. Was not disappointed in the slightest. Domenic was so warm and welcoming and the fettuccine boscaiola I ordered was DIVINE. Came here again last night with a friend (who's never been here before); he is now converted and Nonna Maria's is HIS new go-to place for authentic Italian. As soon as we walked in, we could smell the food, and it was mouth-watering. We actually hadn't even made a reservation, yet Domenic was so accommodating and was happy to seat us. My friend couldn't wait to order. We had the bruschetta and homemade meatballs + bread to start; utter perfection. For mains, we ordered the penne pesto and fettuccine carbonara; it was amazing. Delectable. If we weren't going to a movie after dinner, my friend said he wanted to order more pasta to take home. He has pledged he is bringing his parents to eat here and his girlfriend here for their anniversary. Really, I cannot make this up. Food, service, ambiance is all 5/5. I will be bringing anyone I know to Nonna Maria's who hasn't been before because I do not want them to miss out! Now, for those of you saying 'service' is slow or poor: it's not; food comes out fresh and hot and Domenic is honest about the wait times and always checks on you to see how everything is. And seriously, the food is actually worth the wait. For those of you saying "portions are small": the portions are very reasonable AND they reflect the price. It is more than fair and I promise you if you go to any other "Italian" restaurant in the area, you will be charged MORE for poorer quality food. I'm going to use words that other reviewers have to describe the interior/decor of Nonna Maria's. It's warm, cozy, quaint, rustic and definitely the small family business "ma & pa" feel. If you want "fancy", go somewhere else, and you sure as **** will be paying for it. Bottom-line: anyone who hasn't been needs to get their butt to Nonna Maria's ASAP, and y'all haters please take your haterade elsewhere. Cheers, and grazie, Dom! Will be back again and again! PS the picture of the meatballs isn't as it was served because we actually ate some first before I realized I hadn't gotten a picture. That's how great it is.

Nonna Maria's is a place I've been wanting to go to for YEARS. Because I'm lazy and mainly dine out at restaurants from Church St. and near Westfields, I just never thought to come here. I love the quaint, rustic atmosphere it gives - you feel at home and relaxed. This is the ideal place to hit up especially if you've had a hectic day at work and you just want to sit back and unwind with good food. This is what my friend and I ordered: - Bruschetta: so nice and tasty. Fresh and has an onion, tangy taste to it. - Fettucine Bosciaola: so so yummy! Topped with parmesan cheese with bits of bacon and mushrooms. I love creamy pasta so this was a treat! - Penne All'Arrabbiata (do you remember that hilarious Death Star Canteen video?!): lovely dish with an authentic chilli and tomato flavour. - Tiramisu: this is a must-try!!! Loved this so much! One of the best desserts I've had. Wait staff are incredibly friendly and so generous with their time. You can tell this restaurant is family-owned, giving it its own charm that keep customers coming back. Though the wait times are a little longer than usual, every dish that was served was cooked to perfection and tasted absolutely delicious! Nonna Maria's is definitely a place worth hitting up if you need your pasta fix and you live out west. It's a cosy and heartwarming corner of Parramatta!

This place may be a hit and miss with their service due to slight language barriers (Italian background) causing miscommunication. We had no problem ordering at their counter and the Carbonara pasta arrived a decent 15minutes later. The pasta used was spaghetti instead of the usual fettuccine. The dish was flavoursome with salted pasta and a sauce that was slightly more oily than creamy yet still beautiful to taste. There is no indication for the staff when a customer has walked in or out at the door so there were times where a couple were waiting to be sat at a tanle. I also was waiting at the counter for some service to find out whether there is a long wait on the tiramisu. I assume they thought my friend and I were sharing the pasta when he was having the pasta and I, the dessert. Tiramisu was very moist and strongly soaked in coffee and liquor with a sweet twist in the sponge though not overpowering. The cream was not excessive. It was nice but would return to try their other foods as the pasta was great! Though do expect some delays in communication. At the time I dined here, there were two other families in the restaurant. Some cute pet dogs in the back close to the restrooms. A nice little garden with an aloe Vera plant. Interesting, slightly quirky decor.
