Cosmopolitan Bar & Restaurant

Sadly and with DEEP regret I booked for a group of family and friends after reading the enormous amount of glowing praises and positive feedback on Facebook but the reality is the complete polar opposite.From the moment we walked in the door - nothing seemed right.Terrible atmosphere - creepy MC who want to force everyone to go on karaoke and when politely declined the MC became VERY rude and disrespectful of everyone in our group. TERRIBLE - TERRIBLE NIGHT. you will be better off going ANYWHERE but to Cosmopolitan Bar & Resturant

George,You definitely have the calculations incorrect! As a business man and an owner of Cosmopolitan- you have verbally advised me and specifically wrote down all the information I had provided you that I required that night.What's disappointing is you had confirmed everything with me and to come in last night and not get what we discussed is in fact "disappointing" and VERY unsatisfactory.1- I had advised you that 25 people confirmed they were attending (22 had eaten)2- you had quoted me $45 per person for a 3 course meal which consisted of: * Entre- bruschetta, pumpkin arranchi balls and meat balls* Main course 1: Creamy bosciola and a penne bolognise * Main 2: chicken and meat skewers with chips and deep fried bread and normal bread with soft drinks included (3 hours worth).I had advised that I will be providing my own cake.To which...I had completely received NOT what I had expected and what I had ordered!I had the following at the tables:* Entre: fattoush, sambosik, kibi, falafel, deep fried cauliflower and dips* Main 1 only: chicken and kafta, sausages and chips with tabooli of all which had no flavour (taking feedback from my guests)NO MAIN 2!To this I'm VERY unhappy.I also had to asked the waitress to provide the soft drink (which again, WE'RE included as per your quote).At the end the night you had the decency to argue with me and be little me and come up with a pathetic excuse saying " I lost my paper work". I had not only sat with you to book this special night for my brother, but on numerous occasions I had contacted you via email and phone calls with my expected meals and which was confirmed on the day that all that I requested would be there. Again as a business man and the owner, this is very unprofessional and very stupid to provide me this excuse.You had then offered me to bring 4 of my friends to come next week for a free meal (which clearly shows you were in the wrong and not provided me what I wanted).When you asked if the night was ok, I did say yes. My pure focus was on my brother. At the end of the day you cannot go at 830pm to buy all the ingredients necessary for the meals that I asked for).Not happy George not happy at all.

I recently celebrated my birthday there with family and friends. To stay my guests and I were made to feel at home is an understatement. Nothing was too difficult and they even decorated the place for me. The food was fantastic and the entertainment had us laughing, singing and dancing all night. George, Dianne and all the Cosmo staff made my birthday that much more special and I honestly can't thank them enough. My family and friends cant stop talking about how great a place Cosmo is, and we all can't wait to go back for a night out. .Thank you Cosmo, you guys seriously rock...

I am giving this place 1 point for the sheer fact that I can't post this without placing a rating. I ventured here for my 21st birthday. I have never been so disgusted in my life. DO NOT book here - I repeat, DO NOT. It is god awful. The website is completely misleading and completely false - the menu and images are all fake. Upon entry at 7:30pm we were the only people in the venue - the cups on the table for water were a plastic and stacked. That should have been the first signal to get out. Then a waiter came around to ask our drink orders... he could not speak a word of english. I ordered a Vodka Martini, 5 minutes later he came back and said "we don't have this - we only have Midori Lemonade, Malibu Coke, Sex on the Beach" - I turned my head to the bar to see all the ingredients to make a Vodka Martini... instead ordered a white wine which was DISGRACEFUL. When the food started to arrive it resembled a frozen "party pack" you find in Woolies with some small plates of hummus. Then let's move to the music and atmosphere.... the music was too loud, overbearing and the room remained empty until another large group of people arrived who were there for a birthday as well. An incredibly rude host then forced myself and the other birthday person onto the stage with a drink he had made himself. We were then forced to choose a song from a long list of karaoke numbers to perform... I detest being the centre of attention so asked to sit out - at which point he followed me around until I had to place my hand on his shoulder and say "I intend to sit now if that's okay with you" and then sat at my table. The lady also celebrating her birthday was okay with the idea to perform her song - so the host told the other patrons and my guests to "boo" me. Humiliating and disgusting. He is a bully. We were then forced to endure the screeching of the other party goers - who's numbers were triple ours. They took over the space and the voices were so loud from the singing into microphones that we were unable to continue a conversation. I then asked the waiting how many courses there were - to which he responded "I don't know". I have never been so disgusted - we were forced to leave. a 21st I will definitely remember for the wrong reasons. I strongly advise against going anywhere near this venue.

We came here for a friends birthday. The restaurant is looking a bit tired, but we were not put off as the lady behind the bar was super friendly and helpful.Unfortunately when it came to food that where it falls down. Starters of dips and pickles were dull, from cheap lines and came after the mains!My Caesar salad had dressing that was more salad cream and mustard and my chicken was off. I did not pay for this, again mgt were very pleasant. My friends comments were - Asian salad was not good, she did not eat and was too polite to say any more. Beef steak - worse meal she has had in Sydney. I recommend you eat before you sing. Karaoke part was excellent, DJ was good fun.
