la Karambole - Paris 18e Arrondissement

I am working not far from Place de Clichy close to Montmartre, Moulin Rouge... since 4 years and only discovered that place few months ago. Located only 1 minute walking from the crowded Avenue de Clichy, this place is like an island in a very...quite street. You can even enjoy the small terrace and Chloé, the nice yet efficient waitress will bring you a straw hat if too sunny . The place is tiny and no reservation is possible as it is more and more famous for local people, always full. And once you will taste the daily menu, you 'll understand why Karambole became my cantine =daily restaurant . There are no micro waves in the open kitchen ; Mody, the Chef, invents new dishes from fresh ingredients every day. Oh, you will have a great piece of meat and fries if you wish, but he 's always surprising us with kind of fusion food full of finer tastes. Their wine selection is not really wide but you will find a cheap and good one whatever you order with. In lots of places, desserts are always a bit disappointing and, let 's be honest, real expensive. Karambole 's ones are just the opposite and you can have a sample of each 3 day desserts in the Café Gourmand . From the creamy Riz au lait rice pudding to the almond milk ice cream, all homemade sweets are worth the trip... For loyal customers, there is even a 15% discount ! So if you 're hungry, looking for a relax yet good and healthy food place with that special new paris atmosphere at a fair price : RUN before it 's full... Good for drinks and different types of food, mostly catering to a younger crowd, more like a cafe, good friendly service

Great tapas restaurant off the beaten track in Paris. Went in for pre dinner drinks and had an amazing time. Staff loved the fact that my wife and I tried to speak French and helped us with the language barrier. Will be going back for...sure next time we are in town.

A great little bar for an after work drink with the locals, lovely lunches at reasonable prices, and the best burgers in town. Trendy owners and a late 20s mid 30s crowd in the evenings. Some nights there are funky electro DJs and art exhibitions.
