It's a place out of the 70's with a classical menu and dated facility. However, the food was pretty good, including vegetables that were not over cooked. The kitchen was slow and the wine selections very limited. The clientele were predominantly regulars.
2 hours 20 mi from the time we entered the restaurant till food arrived! The kitchen needs work . And btw the oysters are not served dry. Poorly trained staff and kitchen
I had my first experience at the Woodstock Colonial Restaurant on Saturday evening with family. I remember driving by this place as a child driving from around the bay to St Johns and always thought it look real nice, so decided to take family on one of my trips home at Easter. The food was good, ambiance was very good, the service was very good however the price is way too high. Rumour has it that it's under new ownership and the food quality was very good rather than just good at one time. The Cod Au Gratin was not tasty, the fried cod had a horrible taste as if it were freezer burnt, the bread was like bulk style processed bread and the special Stuffed cod was extremely dry and had a similar taste as the pan fried cod. First and last visit.
Over priced menu....limited wine selection....poor service.....really nice music with live performer.
Food was very overpriced. Service was slow (3 hours for our meal). Food was not very good My prime rib roast came out grilled (that was a first for me). Meat was tough and had bbq sauce. I had to request the Au jus that was supposed to come on it my Muscles came out cold and you could tell they weren't fresh. one of the people in our party had the cod fish. He explained it as the worst fish he ever had. Freezer burnt and no seasoning. Terribly overpriced in a dated restaurant that had sub par service. I'll give it a zero.
