Som Tum Fine Thai Cuisine - Ottawa

We had a booking on Saturday night for 20h15 though the restairant usually closes at 9PM the waitress was super nice and efficient. We ordered a sample of 4 dishes for 8 people -we were served Hot and Delicious food within 15minutes of arrival The...place had been highly recommened to me by a regular guest.We were not disapointed. I d go back any time !

3 of us went for dinner at about 7pm on a Wednesday surprised to see that only 4 tables occupied.The food is freshly cooked and sumptuous. Service is prompt. Décor is minimalistic and clean.

Well, regrettably, Ottawa is not blessed with great Thai restaurants...so, being a local, I had frankly given up. Perhaps too spoiled with time spent in SE Asia. Anyhow, a colleague recommended this place, so we finally decided to oblige. Went there for lunch and must...say thank goodness that we booked! The place was packed out on this Friday. The restaurant has two lunch combo options for lunch at $16.95 each very reasonable. We divided to go à la carte and ordered they deep fried spring rolls, the shrimp pad thai and the curry of the day which was chicken Penang! All was very good, and certainly the best that I’ve had so far in Ottawa. Thai Basil is also good, but out of the way from the downtown core of Ottawa. We also shared 1/2L of Chilean Cab Sauv for $16.95. BTW, all à la carte dishes were between $14 $17. We highly recommend this place. We will return.

Our table ordered several dishes to share and all were outstanding! My favorite was the tamarind shrimp. We raised our concern on the strength of the chili and they were accommodating, the amount used complimented the food. For dessert we had a delicious coconut ice...cream. The service was good. The decor completed the experience, it's tastefully done! Highly recommend the restaurant, I'll certainly go back.

Thai food, sweet and spicy depending on what you prefer. Note that the spiciness is shown on the menu, beside the line items before you order. When choosing the specials, its quicker if in a rush, however it may not be hot when arriving to...your table. Soups are excellent and spicy.
