I'm usually not a Royal Oak fan, but it seemed to the best choice for dinner after bowling at West Park Lanes. My steak pub pie was decent, just wished the cucumber from my salad was not such a thick cut.
This a great place for pub food, burgers, sandwiches, beers.A few burger options, fish and chips, sandwiches, wraps and good beer choices. You get decent service and the waitresses are friendly, nice and helpful.Prices have gone up while the neighbouring places are better for prices like The Wood, O'Donnels etc.
I met a friend for a bite and a drink here. I've always liked the cozy, laid back feel of the venue. Our drinks were great, unfortunately my burger left me bedridden for the next 2 days. I suspect it was from the soggy looking toppings, or perhaps the beef wasn't fully cooked through. Nevertheless, I won't be returning for food at this venue.
Considering the place is a Pub, the food is okay. Staff are nice and friendly. The smokers always loitering by the entrance and exit are a shame and ruins the experience if not deters people from entering.
