Fondita Mexican Grill - Ottawa

This restaurant is absolutely delicious! They have a wonderful variety of food to choose from and the service is excellent. One of my favorite dishes is the lobster nachos. Today, we each tried a different dish of shrimp and scallops, which were both amazing. Definitely a must-try!

I went to the restaurant to place a takeout order and found a long line with no employees assisting customers. A man approached us and asked if we wanted to dine in. When we declined and said we wanted takeout, he took the next customers in line to a table without acknowledging us. The customers seemed confused as he only asked "for here?" and when they agreed, he just said "okay" and walked them to a table. It was incredibly rude.

The waiter we had was careless. First, he served us the wrong plates, and then my fajitas were dry, burnt, and crunchy. All I tasted was char. Even the tortillas were terrible. I waited for him to come back and ask how the food was, but he never returned to even give us a drink refill. We usually eat here all the time and the food has never been bad. We waited for a half hour for a table before we went up to the register and asked to pay. I informed them I didn't eat my food, but the waiter checked us out without caring or apologizing. It was surprising because I've never seen a rude waiter at this establishment before. I'm not sure if I want to go back and risk experiencing his poor service again.

This place is really wonderful. We called in an order for takeout after a long day of travel on the way to our hotel. Every dish that we ordered was well cooked and delicious. It felt much healthier than other options that are typically available totravelers. We would definitely recommend!
