Delicious veal sandwichesCame in for the first time today.
Great veal and meatball sandwichesHaven't tried the chicken but I hear it's good too.
We have been long time Sinatra's customers but after a few so-so lunches hadn't been back for a while. Tried it again today and found things have still not improved. There was almost no sauce on either sandwich, and the mushrooms on mine were hard to find. The meat was dry as well, and combined with the kaiser (more on this in a moment) I found the whole sandwich a very poor experience. It used to be that the sauce and mushrooms oozed out of the sandwich in a delicious mess and the sauce was quite excellent. I couldn't even taste it today.Back to the bun...if there is one thing I have always had a beef about, it was the bun. A large kaiser bun, it is too much bread and the wrong flavour for an Italian sandwich. Still, the quantity and quality of the sauce has had me overlook it...until now. I doubt I will be back, and that is too bad. I like to support local eateries.
I had an opportunity to drop by Sinatra's for lunch at 11:30. The place was very quiet, lunch crowd had not arrived. Durham Roads made it very difficult for me to find the place as Simcoe St. N of Rossland is closed until October or November 2017. Best route from Rossland is left at Hortop St., north to Sunset Dr., turn right (East) to Simcoe St. and make a left turn. Enough directions. Hot is a relative term and their version of hot peppers did not cut it with me, not to imply that the sandwich was not great. Loved it. Added some hot chili flakes, the kind used on spaghetti, to give is some bite. Brought back old veal sandwich memories. Very pleased with the meal. Well worth the drive from Pickering. The have a small Vegan menu. I did not investigate it. There a some steps that I think can be managed by someone with a wheelchair, may need assistance to get in. Parking was acceptable with some extra spaces in the rear.
