The gentleman who served us had an incredible sense of humour and was truly fantastic. We were seated quickly and in no time at all, drinks were in hand. Food orders were taken and served promptly and the food was fresh and hot! Definitely a great restaurant and a place to return to on our next trip to Ottawa!
Very nice clean well designed , service just awful ordered special but out of it ordered beverage should have been 5.50 bit charged $8 for a pint plus ordered two pints and a glass of wine charged for the day special even when they where out ,had to run after the barman for the bill because the waitress disappeared after serving us. Will NEVER go back.Very very poor just too bad because nice looking place but can't tell a book by its cover
Six of us had dinner there recently and we all enjoyed our lobster dinners. Some of us had the actual lobster plate, others had the lobster rolls and someone else even tried the lobster poutine. Despite the restaurant being busy, the service was quick and friendly. Our server Julie was very pleasant. The lobster festival ends at the beginning of July so we will have to go again before it's over.
I came here for dinner on a Friday night. The Royal Oak was around the corner from where I was staying. This pub was very noisy. I could hardly hear myself think. It must be a hang out for University students. I ordered the Friday Fish and Chips special. The fish was haddock I wasn't impressed with the fish. The batter was too hard and the fish was bland. The fries were good. It was a huge portion. I couldn't eat at all. The service was very good. It was fast and my server was friendly. I was confused as to where I was supposed to go to get seated. I asked at the bar and they suggested that I sit at a table by the window. The table was right by a heater so it was too warm. I found it very crowded in the bar area. It was a clean pub. I don't think that I would eat here again.
We stumbled on this place and ended up spending a few hours. Good beer, really decent food and the staff were chatty and helpful (even if they couldn't understand Scottish accents...!!). I'd highly recommend this place if you are in the city.
