Totally impressed! Excellent food and service... in the height of the season in prime time expect to wait. If you don't love Shipp's, better vacation somewhere else! Maybe the Gulf Coast is not for you!

This place was fantastic. The view was beautiful, but rsvp or you may be out of luck. I had the blackened Mahi with lump crab and Gorgonzola and it was absolutely delicious. My friends has the island blackened Mahi and the red snapper, everything looked like art and tasted wonderful. I wished I had saved room for the dessert, but I couldn't eat another bite. Very reasonably priced. It was hard to choose between steak, sushi or Mahi...

Sushi is really good. Atmosphere is really nice and great view. Priced very reasonable to comparing restaurants in the area. I defiantly would go back.

I absolutely love the food here, but you can't have high expectations for service. It isn't just that the kitchen is slow either. Tonight, my drink was empty when food was delivered, and we never could get anyone's attention. About 15 minutes after food was delivered, my husband finally went to the bar to ask for a refill. They also didn't deliver one of the items we ordered. By the time we flagged someone down to go get our server so we could tell him, we had already finished eating. I told the server we didn't want it if it was going to take a while, and he said it should be sitting there ready to come out. I told him to just take it off. Is it seriously a good idea to offer to bring someone food that has been sitting there 20-30 minutes?? It may be true the kitchen is too small, but the wait staff seems stretched quite thin as well. This particular server was really on his game until about the time our food came out. At that point, he was too busy with other tables to keep up with ours.

We have been coming here for years, and we have yet to be disappointed. For a starter try their Pepper Shrimp or their Crab Bisque, and for the main course try their Grouper Pontchartrain or their Blackened Mahi Mahi, both are fantastic. The tuna here is also great, and I would highly reccommend Ben's Blackened Tuna or their tuna taco for lunch.
