At the new location. it was excited to try it when I had lunch in the midtown location for lunch a few times a month and loved everything I had there! the decor in this location is uplifted and a bit trendy. very nice, clean lines. the personal was friendly. I was happy. until the salsa and goldenqueso arrived. the salsa was completely absent from acid. very bland tasting. I almost asked the waitress on a little bit of a lime! the Queensize program is the half of the size they get at their midtown position and not close so thick. in any case not the same foods so far. the chips were even different, but still they were very good, only much bigger if that is possible! I ordered the beans and cheese...read more
Beautiful ambiente and just as good eating as the original 1492. the dining room is simply stunning. great place to take a date. the salsas are delicious and authentic. the cocos yarns were greasy and strange. the steak was a triumphant, but the kartoffels needed a touch more love (namely salt and spicy). The bor and cheese axes are amazing and affordable. it is also one of the most beautiful dishes that they can get. surprise, right? we ordered a couple of appetizers in this night, the beeping and beeping is one of them. but I had the full order as a meal and never missed the meat. we made a night on it and ordered dessert. it was a special one for the day, but the...read more
First time at the new location. Was excited to try it as I eat at their Midtown location for lunch a few times a month and love everything I've had there! The decor in this location is upscale and a bit trendy. Very nice, clean lines. The staff was friendly. I was enjoying myself...until the salsa and gold queso arrived. The salsa totally lacked any acid. Very bland tasting. I almost asked the waitress for some lime! The queso serving is half the size you get at their Midtown location and not near as thick. Definitely not the same foods so far. The chips were even different, but still they were very good, just a lot bigger, if that is possible! I ordered the bean and cheese nachos. Disappointed in the chip portion of the nachos as they got flimsy and wilty in just a few minutes. The cheese hardened up equally as fast. So, I will probably stick to the Midtown location when I eat at 1492 next time.
Beautiful ambiance, and just as good food as the original 1492. The dining room is simply stunning. Great place to take a date. The salsas are tasty and authentic. The coconut shrimp were greasy and weird. The steak was a triumph but the potatoes were needing a touch more love (namely salt and seasoning). The bean and cheese nachos are AMAZING, and affordable. It is also one of the prettiest dishes you can get. Surprise, right? We ordered a few appetizers that night, the bean and cheese nachos being one of them. But I have had the full order as a meal and never missed the meat. We made a night of it and ordered dessert. It was a special for the day, but the strawberry and banana crepes were heavenly. Doubt they will be on the menu when you go, but I suggest exploring a different dessert than some boring ol sopapilla. The chefs implore great techniques and explore different flavors here, making this an overall great dining experience.
