We enjoyed the wine tasting first and the view over the vineyards with the mountains in the distance. There is good parking but not a lot of shade on a hot day.
Stopped by the Wild Goose winery to try out their Bistro for dinner. Great prices, loads of food, not like a typical bistro or winery that gives bird like portions. We had the watermelon salad and shared it, it was drizzled with balsamic dressing, and the Wild Goose Riesling; excellent! Then we ordered the smoke pit pig wings, I have never tried pork done this way, or this cut...They had three flavors, hot, bbq, honey garlic...my fave was the bbq, my husbands was the hot. It came with their signature dill coleslaw, bbq beans, and corn bread. I shared this with my husband, it filled us up! Highly recommend this dish, and thats coming from a non pork eater! They have award winning wines to, their Autumn Gold white, just won gold awards. I will go back for sure, it was 15-20 minute drive from Penticton, nestled in the beautiful Okanagan Falls Valley. There are about Six other wineries in the immediate vicinity if you are looking to do a wine tour and then have lunch or dinner there. Ps - The chef is a trained sommelier great cook, and sure knows how to use their smokers for their food. Did I mention, they use the grape prunings in their smoker. Check it out!
Great little Bistro at the Wild Goose Winery. We stop for a break before we ventured off for wine tastings in OK Falls. Great view on a beautiful day in the Okanagan, the meal is prepared on the patio by a more than capable chef. Smoked meat is the key here, the ribs must be great as the majority of people today ordered them and they looked and smelled amazing.
I am a Wild Goose member and receive discounts at the Smoke and Oak Bistro. I went for lunch last weekend with a friend who had never been. We started with the watermelon and feta salad which was (large), refreshing and so tasty! We ordered BBQ ribs and BBQ brisket; both were delicious but I will, in the future, ask for the extra BBQ sauce on the side. The coleslaw, baked beans and corn bread were the perfect accompaniments for the savory BBQ. Enjoyed with a glass of wine. Good food and (IMHO) the best white wines in the Okanagan!
We were staying close to this vineyard and restaurant so decided to give it a go for dinner. You dine on the deck and we had the good fortune to meet Roland Kruger who entertained us with some history of the family and their vineyard. The food and wine were enjoyable and the service was great. All in all a great place to stop and eat and sample the wines.
