The chicken piccata was spectacular, probably the best chicken dish I have ever had. My wife raved about the Truffle ravioli. The wine and cocktails were excellent as was the service. We'll definitely be back, often.
Excellent! On a business trip and YELP'd best restaurants near me. This came up top of list. Did not disappoint. Had the Butchers Ragu the first night and the Bondarino the next. Both were excellent but the ragu took top honors.
This restaurant itself is beautiful and has fabulous views. The bread that comes to the table is standard frozen dinner rolls which I wouldn’t mind if the menu was not so pricey. We ordered the bruschetta it was nice and refreshing. Our waitress was lovely and very attentive, however we would have appreciated some acknowledgement or solution when she asked us if we would be back again and my husband said I don’t know. She visibly saw my husband now eating my dinner with his plate still loaded with pasta and only the few pieces of shell fish he was provided consumed. We asked before ordering if the pasta was homemade again for the price I would expect it to be. She said it was not. We ordered the dish anyway because really Italian food is all in the flavor. My husband ordered Frutti di Mare, which was over $30. It came with one scallop, two medium sized prawns, 4 muscles and a lot of calamari which is either frozen or over cooked as it was chewy. The sauce tasted like spicy ketchup, I expect way more than that, tomato based sauces are the cornerstone of Italian food and this sauce did not taste like it was made from scratch or built up overtime. I got the special of the night which was halibut with risotto. My dish was absolutely delicious the fish was cooked to perfection. We are very unlikely to return as the price point does not match the quality of food and I feel to much of what we ate was not made from scratch to warrant us spending that money again. We were here for Valentine’s Day. The restaurant was packed. But we were seated on time by the window. Service was prompt and attentive in spite of the busyness. We enjoyed everything we had. Pictured is the frutti di mare. The seafood was quite nicea big step up from standard seafood options in the Midwest. I think we got out of there with a respectable bill. If you eat here and want to enjoy yourself, I’d anticipate $100/person. We had a bottle of wine, appetizers, entrees and dessert. This isn’t an Applebee’squality food and a nice experience is going to cost more. We had two minor “complaints.” The first is that the tables by the window can get chilly in the winter (shocking! . My girlfriend gets cold easily. The view was terrific, but plan to dress a little warmer if you’re that person that gets cold. I personally was fine with the temperature. The second issue is the limited parking in front. Definitely not a big deal. Be a gentlemen and drop your date off at the front, then park across the street. Update: some of the best lobster bisque we’ve ever had! The lasagna is very flavorful and meaty. Outstanding service! Great food and atmosphere. I was with a party of six, the restaurant was full (how wonderful), people visiting and enjoying! However, it was loud and it was hard to hear anyone but the person next to you. Not sure anything can be done about that as it’s an architectural thing? Highly recommend this place.
