Last week I and my wife happened to visit Óbidos one of the old and fortified Portuguese towns. We ended up having lunch in the Legend (Evolutee Hotel) Restaurants in his country had just come out of the Covid confinement and we were alone two seats overlooking the vast expanse of the golf course and the sea in the background. I had a grilled octopus. My wife had sea bass, a fish puff cooked with what I believe was filo pastry. Very well presented and cooked. Everything went down with some inexpensive dry white wine. The waiters also could be praised for their sympathy and simplicity. Excellent. I recommend it.
We played golf here last week, lovely picturesque golf course, the issue is they pack golfers onto the course with three groups on each hole, this was nearly a 6 hour round, terrible. The issue with this resort is that it is totally mid managed from reception to restaurant to golf, the staff are miserable! The Legends restaurant was awful, cold over cooked food was the least of their problems on the night we visited. The floor was covered in ants, trust me this is no exaggeration, they were crawling up people’s legs, I made the staff aware and they said it was normal and that they lived there! REALLY! What they needed to do was clean he floors, simple solution! Please avoid this restaurant!!!
Some frozen food warmed up. Totally destroyed lamb chops and a small army of ants running up and down your legs whilst you are eating. Complained about lamb chops response, sorry and nothing further.
Did'nt play golf here but ate in the restaurant. Myself, husband and son's aged 16 15 ate here. The menu was quite extensive. We all had starters, two of them were just warm. Main courses came one was just about warm and my steak was tepid as was my husbands lamb chops which were also very salty. I called waiter and explained that both my dinner and my husbands were not hot enough. No problem they were taken away, returned some 10 minutes later and were still exactly at the same temperature. At this stage my husband was hungry and said that he was going to eat it anyway. I called waiter again and told him that it was no hotter. Mine was taken away again and some 20 minutes later returned piping hot, meanwhile everyone else at my table had finished their food.. The boys had dessert and I had coffee.. Bill came and there was'nt as much as a cent taken off. I could have been offered a free desert or even a coffee. There is no excuse for cold food and for it to come back out cold again is ridiculous. It's not as if the place was full, about, 16 people on a Friday night. Maybe that's why it was'nt busy. It was'nt cheap either €24 for a sirloin steak.
