They also have a nice selection of items for purchase, such as coffee and chocolates. The staff is friendly and helpful, although the noise from the nearby construction site is a downside. The only improvements would be hotter tea and a larger pot.
It is such a treat to have Yellow Bourbon in Northampton. The coffee is always delicious (you can smell it roasting away upstairs), Steve's friendly team is extremely knowledgeable and if you're lucky, you may be greeted by Patch the dog. It's a super independent and well worth a visit for all your coffee needs.
Wonderful coffee. Had the expresso and latte both were best I've had not only Northampton, but anywhere and I've drank a lot lot coffee. Also got some beans whole to take away. The Ethiopian Koke and Rwandan. Both beautful fruity numbers , great roasting. Had a good chat with the owner who was full of info on the beans, roasting process etc. Top quality, definitely be going back.
Just once in a while you discover a gem of place to sit, relax and enjoy coffee as it really should be. Simply smooth and full of flavour. No acid and bitter tastes to spoil the experience. The Yellow Bourbon is just such a place; tucked away in a narrow side street of Northampton town centre, it is easier to overlook than it is to find. However, once found never forgotten. It's tiny and always full of people popping in for a carry out. But it's worth the short wait. The folk who own and run the cafe couldn't be nicer, kinder and more helpful and full of great chat while you wait for your coffee to brew. Upstairs there's plenty of seating efficiently tucked in adjacent to the coffee roasting and grinding machinery but still airy and comfortable. The atmosphere is wonderful with the aromas of slowly roasting beans filling the air. Oh, and did I mention the coffee. The best you'll find anywhere on the planet. I kid you not! Go there to relax and unwind in this very special and rewarding corner of heaven.
I have been here on many occasions and always had great service and fantastic coffee. The special cortado is my favourite. Great range of coffees to take home and grind yourself and watch out for the Saturday morning lessons which are great. The best coffee for miles.
