Przekaż informację zwrotnąAtmosphere/location - Big, clean restaurant. Nothing hip going on here, but we came for the Korean food. Seemed like there was a (wedding?) party in the back, but we got a semi private booth and I did not notice any noise from the party or even from adjacent tables. There was also a sheer curtain that they pulled down half way to give us some additional privacy once all the food came out which was nice. As much as I love going to yonge and finch or Sheppard for my Korean or Japanese fixings, this is a welcome addition to the area imo. Located on finch between keele and dufferin, this is closer to home for me and I don't have to deal with the hassle of parking (free and plenty here.) Big win.service - Definitely faster than the last time I came here. I felt like the service from the staff went really well from start to finish. We were greeted and seated at a booth right away, they were prompt in taking our order and bringing out the food. I liked that they gave us a pitcher of water. We were also given gyoza on the house (5 pcs of chicken gyoza) and fresh fruit (orange) to end our meal. Paying for the meal was also a breeze. Food - We arrived just after 3pm (darn it we missed the lunch specials I didn't know they had.) So we ordered kimchi ji gae (kimchi stew) and soon dubu (soft tofu stew) and 8oz of hot sake. additional free food items (usual banchan) were given quickly and were tasty. We got at least 6 different free dishes which I can't rmb how to name them. They also have us a tiny bowl of congee which was welcomed. As I mentioned earlier, we were also given some free gyozas. Everything tasted good, but I cannot say it's the best Korean food I've had. Then again I have been really lucky to have eaten really authentic, homemade kimchi stews on several occasions. So that alone makes my personal expectations a bit too high. Would I order the stew again? Yes, but I might ask for no green onion as I felt my stew was filled with it. Maybe this is just a preference issue. I also really liked that the rice given with our stews were the purple rice. Really tasty and fresh. The staff finished off our meal with some complementary fruit (cut orange) that was a refreshing flavour profile after having the spicy food.Overall - I would be back as this is in a good location for me. There is only one other Korean restaurant close by to me and I would come to hansik korea over the other place. I would be interested to try their sashimi during lunch and maybe their Korean BBQ for dinner sometime in the near future. Their service was really good and I had no issues with it. I liked that they went the extra mile to share a few pieces of gyoza with us (normally a paid for dish.) Since they give a lot of complementary side dishes here, I felt the value of the meal was really good. The only reason they didn't get five stars from me is because I can't deny that I have had better kimchi stews from other restaurants and friends homes. So although it was good, it didn't entirely crush my craving for that really comforting Kim chi stew that I'm used to having. I wish I could give them 4.5 stars because everything else went really well. Don't be scared to give this place a shot.
It was my first visit to Hansik. The restaurant was quiet and very clean. The staff were discreetly attentive without hovering or being annoying. We were served tea and the side dishes quickly, then we were given as much time as we needed to look over the menu which had a nice variety of dishes. Once we ordered the food came a lot quicker then was expected. I ordered the bulgogi bibimbap which was delicious. It was a generous portion with fresh ingredients, so come hungry! We were treated graciously and were allowed to linger over our meal and soju. It was a very pleasant experience and I will definitely be going back. The only downfall is that it is closed early but I suspect that is because of the location, so it may be more popular during lunchtime and for banquets.
We stumbled upon this restaurant by chance while driving past, and we were pleasantly surprised! The menu is extensive and offers a wide variety of delicious Korean dishes.
This Korean BBQ all-you-can-eat is amazing! The prices are very reasonable and the portions are very generous.
I went to the restaurant on a Friday evening around 6:30 and it was quite calm. There was a large group of about 8 people.
