La Cucina - North Vancouver

Dinner for three people sharing appetizer, salad, 2 pasta entrees and sea bass, desert and drinks. Every dish was okay, nothing special. Portion sizes very small - I was hungry upon leaving. Prices very high ($36 for small portion of sea bass with one piece of carrot, two slices of potato!!). Service just okay. Perhaps my expectation is a bit high after being in Italy for a week where abundant, freshly prepared food and reasonable prices abound.

We went there on our trip through BC and were really surprised to find such an authentic italian restaurant! The food was really delicious and the owners are very friendly! Prices are also fair

I ate here tonight with friends and was very impressed with the service the food and the ambience. The starter of mushrooms was very nice indeed and then my spaghetti carbonara was quite delicious. I finished with chocolate lava cake which was also first class. I recommend this restaurant.

We stumbled apon this quaint restaurant when we were driving around North Vancouver trying to find a place to park. The ambiance was quite nice and the little touches like the olive oil and balsamic with warm bread was delicious. The waiter wasnt Mr Personality but he was professional and answered our questions. I had the prawn garlic and pasta dish. The presentation was nice but the portions a bit small and prawns a bit rubbery for the $19-50 price. The pasta itself was done perfectly and I needed some extra bread to soak up the juices...but they were also careful with how much bread they gave us as well. I have to say that the tiramisu dessert was the highlight of the evening. It was fantastic...and the waiter actually cracked a smile after we ate it so fast. We hadnt eaten since breakfast so we were really hungry and it was around 8. They have been there for 36 years so they must have the clientele to keep them going, but for the price of the meals, we expected more.

Great food, amazing service in a quaint little establishment!! All our needs were met to the fullest!! Oh, and the tiramisu is a must!!
