Lots of Kabob options if you like Kabobs. Pricing was reasonable. Nice outdoor patio. They even have monogrammed tableware and serviettes. One of the best menus I've seen in awhile. Well worth the visit.
Great Ambient, friendly staff, easy parking; however, my last week 's visit to the restaurant made me questioned all of the above. I walked in and asked the staff if the serve halal, the staff said yes, we do. All our items are 100% Halal . So I decided to eat there. As we were leaving, we asked the bar tender if the food is halal and the fellow said no, I have been working for a year and I haven 't even HEARD of this . At that point I was DISAPPOINTED, how could someone LIE about food being HALAL? The friendly staff LIED to my face and served me Non-Halal food. I WON T RECOMMEND to go there, if they could Lie about Halal Food, they would be lie about pretty much anything. You Decide.
For the first time, we went to Gilaneh Restaurant on Denman Street for dinner. The main dishes are priced higher than other Persian restaurants however quality is not much different and our ground meat kabab was salty. The service was poor we were really surprised to see a $5 charge on our bill for a small plate of cold oily rice taadig (it's an unusual practice in Persian restaurant, they didn't tell us when we asked for it, and price is just wrong). Not so keen to go back as we can get better food with reasonable prices else where.
We just walked in for lunch soon after we noticed it was where we were renting a car. A fabulous restaurant with really tasty Persian cuisine!! A must go for everyone… we had koobideh Kabab and Tosrsh Kabab and lamb shank with baghali polo… oh my god it was just out of the world….very tasty and delicious…. Strongly recommend to visit for authentic Persian home made food… We were glad to have visited here …. We are travelling from Toronto but rarely came across such delicious food even in Toronto which boasts Persian cuisine in Canada.
Food is fine but service is not very caring. But now I will for sure not go there ever again. I orders 6 pieces of lamp to go. At home I had to find out it was 1 piece of lamp with rice, complete different then what I ordered. I had guests, a very unpleasant experience because now I to have to go back, leaving my guests to wait for me to come back. At the restaurant the owner couldn't care less and the waitress tried to explain me that I ordered something. Hello ?.I order 6 pieced and get one and a different meat ! At least they could have given me something for my spoiled dinner evening, because now did not have anything and did not feel like getting anything here being treated so unpolite ! The fiendly Canadian way would have found a solution or give me back the already open bag ! I hope they did not sell it again ! I will never go there again. There is far better restaurants with more atmosphere and friendliness. By the way. The poor 2 Goldfish in a glas bowel at the entrance are a shame. Nothing in there for them at all, just dumped in bowel, thats so cruel towards these little beings. : The waitress said she has mentioned it too but they don't care. This shows the attitude in this place.
