We met friends from Melbourne who were staying at North Ryde. We had decided to go somewhere different to our usual meeting place as we do not live locally I used TripAdvisor for suggestions. Since it was Chinese New Year it seemed appropriate to go to a Chinese Restaurant nearby. The restaurant lived up to the reviews and we were glad to have chosen Noble Terrace. The food was excellent and the service exceptional, attentive but not intrusive. It is an intimate sized restaurant and therefore can be a little noisy initially but as the night wore on and some of the families with children disappeared it was a lovely relaxing evening. Will definitely go back there.
Our family has not previously been to this restaurant but, with the closure of North Ryde Golf Club's Chinese dining room last August, was looking for a restaurant to replace it - and we found Noble Terrace. Actually it was recommended by a family friend who has dined there previously. We were very pleased to find a small quiet restaurant with standard suburban Chinese dishes offered, fast table service, air conditioned with parking out the front. The a la carte menu is substantial and the wine list offers a good range. With so much to choose from, we just chose the Jade banquet as it offered a good selection and didn't have a minimum number of diners required to order. A substantial banquet arrived: entrees of crab ball, prawn and sesame toast and spring roll, followed by fried rice and main courses of sang choy bau, BBQ pork, sizzling Mongolian lamb, stir fry beef and crispy skin chicken, then dessert of fried ice cream. There was so much we asked for the chicken to be doggy bagged to take home, which the staff provided.Very happy overall.
We have been loyal customers of Noble Terrace for many years. My family would regularly order Chinese from noble terrace or dine in when it used to be located upstairs on the opposite side of Coxs road. Similarly, I used to get lunch from there too on occasion which was great. When noble terrace moved to the smaller location, it was still really good for a number of years. After Peter left, I feel that the standard dropped. However, the last few times we have been it is as good as ever. Great to see Andy is still there of a weekend. We had a great meal. Lemon chicken, duck pancakes, San Choy Bau, pork in plum sauce, fried rice and satay chicken to name a few. All very good. I am glad Noble terrace is still around and I hope to be able to take my kids there one day.
Service was poor and slow (5 take away main meals took over 1 hour to prepare), food was expensive, portions were small and the food was bland. A combination chow min had barely any meat at all in it. Worst restaurant I have been to in years.
