Every other fish and chip shop in Sheringham was packed with ques down the streets. Seafare was the only one which we could walk straight into. We now know why now. The order was taken and cooked freshly. The staff were loud and seemed to...have a not very interested attitude. When we unwrapped our fish and chips about two minutes later we were really disappointed. Traditionally wrapped in paper but this only works if the batter is crisp, ours wasn't so the paper tore the batter off the fish and stuck to the paper. It was soggy and very greasy. One Haddock was cooked really well apart from the missing batter, the other was so full of bones that it was impossible to eat. You expect the odd bone but this was like nothing either of us have ever come across. The Chips were nothing short of discussing. Greasy, floppy, over cooked but no crispness, brown, just horrible. Overall, couldn't careless staff, absolutely rubbish food. We dumped it in the first bin we could find. Seafare, at the seaside, fish and chips, British tradition, not ever going back. You either care in business or you don't, you last or you don't. How difficult is it to cook Haddock and chips twice. Obviously out of their capabilities. Don't go. que with the others who know. If you are the owner and were working, shame on you, if it was your staff representing you, you have to take note, they are letting you down very badly.
Went to this chip shop 15/09/20 and got cod and chips twice took them back to our holiday accommodation looking forward to them only to find in the 1st mouthful 6 bones so checked both mine and my sons to find our fish was riddled...with them so we just threw them away do not use this chip shop if you want bone free fish waste of money
Been getting the weekly fish and chips here for more than 5 years and can heartily recommend Seafare for service, quality and value!
Quick service with a smile on a very busy day. Chicken, fishcake and pineapple fritter cooked fresh to order. Lovely chips too.
