Deke's Bagels - Niantic

They really need to rethink their strategy. A 45 min wait just to get half a dozen bagels? They make everything in order which is insane. Have one line for bagels by the dozen or half dozen and then another line for sandwiches. They are loosing business bc of the wait times. Such a shame too because the bagels are delicious. Hire more staff and rethink your ordering strategy!

Waited 40 minutes after placing our order, and not until we asked about it were we informed that the bagels we ordered were no longer available. I assume it went to the hands of people in line behind us who somehow got their orders first, as we clearly saw the bagels available when we ordered. But they handed us cash and didn’t even offer us anything else. I said we waited 40 minutes so we need something and managed to get bottom of the barrel bagels. Save your time and find a different bagel spot. Being understaffed is one thing, but this was so disorganized.

The bagels and sandwiches are amazing. We love the (square)bacon egg and cheese bagel with bacon egg and cheese on it. We look forward to coming here whenever we are in town. With that said, however, I do think they need to get more staff because every time we go now, they have a huge line and we end up waiting at least 20 minutes to get our food. The last time we waited about 40 minutes. They seem to be doing very well and they have a lot of customers but I think if they don't start adding more staff they are going to start loosing business.

Waited 45 min for a toasted jalapeño cheddar with salmon cream cheese on a Sunday. It seemed like they didn't have enough staff working and they kept running out of bagels. I will never wait that long for a bagel again. It's summertime and weekends are busy. Owners should consider hiring more staff and baker should bake a lot more during the weekends, especially the popular kinds.Very disappointed.

We’ve enjoyed coming to Deke’s on weekends routinely for years. There’s often a wait because it’s high demand not many bagel joints in the area. The wait and the service has gotten out of hand. This weekend we waited an hour for 3 bagels only for our order to be wrong (bagel ended up selling out during the wait no one bothered to notify), breakfast sandwich not sliced, and rude interactions, no apology. The whole crew of customers stating they had been waiting an hour+, some of which only for a bag of a half dozen bagels. Some people packed up and left, offering that we should just take their order if it ever arrived. As a bagel lover, I’m disappointed to say I think I finally need to give up and throw in the towel on this place that I’ve been trying to hold out hope for.
