Strewn Winery - Niagara-on-the-Lake

Beautiful small winery. We had the best service ever. From the lady that works the store (Mariam maybe?, apologies as I forgot) who was nice, gentle, helpful and extremely polite to the gentleman that served us at the tasting. We felt welcomed, wellserved. The wines are really nice. I tried mostly whites and my husband red. The variety and the good quality is astonishing.They also provide a small bag of chips and they do take their time explaining and getting your feedback. In all, a wonderfulexperience and I would gladly go back for more of their wines which we of course also purchased at their store. I forgot tomention that when I phoned to make the booking, I was assisted by a wonderful and sweet lady as well. This place makes you feellike you are home...just tasting wines too. Our favourite this time: A Cabernet Savignon Sandy Block and a Pinot Grigio.

Very pretentious staff and unhelpful. We wanted to share a tasting and it wasn?t allowed even though every other winery allows it. Don?t appreciate the policies or the attitude. We walked out and spent our money elsewhere. Won?t go back either. PSThanks for the response Strewn. Please train your staff to give a response more like what you took the time to write afterreading my review and you?ll get a better response from your potential customers. It was not explained to us at all and thatwas a missed opportunity, so I stand by my review of poor customer service. And you say you value customization so be willingto customize if people want to share. We?re not trying to be cheap! Your place was empty when we came in. So having a?different approach? that was not explained to us just came off as snooty. Still will not come back due to service received.

Strewn is our favorite winery in Canada. We visit there and buy wine every year. Since we own a winery, in New York State, we look for wines made by others naturally not by 'adjusting ' what the grapes provide the winemaker to work with to make thefinished wine. Strewn is exceptional both with the variety and quality of their wines year after year. And with their hostingexperience. Thoughtful people who like with they do and know what they are talking about.

On Saturday July 30, 2022, I visited the Strewn Winery tasting room with my husband and two friends. We asked if we could pay for three tastings, as my husband was the designated driver for the day and he was responsibly not participating in anytastings. We were told that we would have to pay for four tastings, if he wanted to accompany the three of us during ourtastings. I was shocked. Every other restaurant or tasting room we visited respected his ?designated driver? status. NOTStrewn. I find this unsettling. It is actually encouraging all parties to participate in drinking alcohol, whether they aredriving or not. I think this winery should change their policies. The media is constantly reminding us to be responsible. Weshould always have a designated driver. We should never encourage drunk driving.

Our Strewn winery tour was fantastic. Everyone was welcoming and informative about the wine making process. The wines we tasted were unique and lovely. Michele our tour guide was excellent and went above and beyond to make our experience comfortable on arainy day. Highly recommend this winery. We wish we could buy the wine in the states to support this small business!
