Siam Kingdom - Newington

Located in the heart of Newington, this restaurant offers a delicious selection of noodles, curries, and stir fries. We were pleasantly surprised when a robot brought out our food! The atmosphere was casual, the food was fantastic, and the staff were friendly. What more could you ask for?

That was bad. A few simple takeaway dishes done badly. Money bags dry and fish cakes rubbery bordering on inedible. Somehow the green curry was overly sweet, almost cordial in flavour. The rice was OK, but it's rice. Hopefully caught them on a bad night, but I won't be checking.

I went to the restaurant alone and ordered laksa and jungle curry. The presentation of the curry was not good, and the taste was even worse. It was basically a clear soup with 'Thai scent' ingredients that you can easily make at home with instant packets from the grocery store. The laksa had too much coconut milk and lacked authentic flavor. I hate to leave a negative review, but I was extremely disappointed with both dishes.

Before the lockdown, we decided to take our dog for a walk and have dinner at our favorite local Thai restaurant. When we arrived, the waitress brought us water right away, but we waited for 15 minutes without any attention because they were busy with their takeout orders. Eventually, I had to go to the counter and order our food to go. We sat outside in Newington Marketplace to eat our meal so they could see how disappointed we were. To make matters worse, there were mixed noodles in our dish, indicating that they didn't clean the wok before making our meal. I want to support local businesses, especially during tough times, but they need to do their part as well. Unfortunately, they have lost a loyal customer who felt unappreciated, and I will not be returning out of principle.

One of the best thai places I've been to. Reasonable prices, quick service and fresh food. Also great for delivery.
