Eighth Rail - NEWHALL

This restaurant has a unique atmosphere. The servers are attentive and speak quietly. It was not a good night for my server, but the food was good. I will not be returning definitively. I will definitely try Junction next, as I've heard they have a wonderful atmosphere!

I have visited many bars, but the bartenders at this one are some of the worst I have ever encountered. There is a very racist vibe, with the exception of Jody who is friendly and the only bright spot is a black gentleman who works as a bar back/cook. The crowd here is strange and young, with one guy who wouldn't stop talking about his job as a video game producer and then complained about not being able to afford a house. He wouldn't give me and my boyfriend any space. When I returned later, a blonde lady was very rude. Today, I was refused service for food by the same bartender I had tipped twice before because I didn't have my ID. No food at all? I will never come back here. We had intended to eat at Schoonerville instead.

The restaurant isn't too noisy. The mai tai and red wine were both good. The service was also good. It was the perfect way to end the evening.

I've never been here before. the atmosphere that was captured in the photos was different from what I felt to go into the foot. the place was very dark, almost hard to navigate bc as dark it was. bartender served us almost immediately. Drinks were ok- they were super strong and my friends and I usually drink 2 to 3 drinks at one place, but we felt that you were enough. the dj was cool, sound funny. the terrace area was well illuminated and cozy with the heating, so that was nice. I could say there were many natives who enjoy themselves, everyone seemed very friendly and familiar with each other.

Great local watering hole with old school vibe. Long oblong bar, darts, outdoor seating small menu.
