Tapas a little more expensive than a couple of local places but very authentic food and very good. Absolutely LOVED the Spanish omlette and the meatballs and rice but all the food was really good. Appeared to be one chef and one waitress at the time of our visit so felt personal. Waitress lovely and friendly. Really enjoyed and will be back
I met my partner at this restaurant for pre gig tapas. It was about the only place he could find a table without a reservation (only two other diners inside). When I walked in I thought there was a horrible dirty drain smell greeting me but as my partner had already ordered a beer and everywhere else was so busy I pegged my nose (metaphorically speaking). I sat down and politely asked the waitress for a drink (who, although stood right beside me, had not acknowledged me). She was very off hand and said look at the menu. I said I would but would like a drink while I looked at the menu. I raised my eyebrows toward my partner who said he had had the same treatment when he arrived, had been told to sit down and look at the menu before he could order a beer. He insisted he would like to have a beer while he looked at the menu so she brought him one. The food was excellent albeit overpriced and the Italian waiter who served our food was very professional and friendly. To sum up, the cons of our experience outweigh the pros so it’s highly unlikely we will be back. This might not be an option anyway because unless they up their game in particular lose the rude and very unfriendly waitress, and the horrible smell, I don’t think this restaurant will be around for much longer with so much fab competition in Newcastle.
We visited on Friday the Kaltur on Dean street for a family dinner and we loved it . The atmosphere was very welcoming and the waitress look after us and suggested us some nice dishes and wine to share . We had the kaltur salad which was very refreshing and good price pairing with the Rioja el ribazo . The menu also had plenty of vegan and vegetarian dishes and satisfied our dietary requirements . The lovely girl with the black short hair was very attentive through our visit and we really enjoyed the food . Definitely will come back !
I went to Kaltur Dean Street recently. The atmosphere is ever so friendly, the staff is very professional and attentive, particularly Louisa and Nelly. Combining it with the huge variety of Spanish wine and great choice of traditional music (Flamenco). For a moment this place takes you to the heart of Spain. I will definitely come back soon!
We came on dec 31st for a late lunch, really nice food and lovely vibe, staff were lovely also : (I accidentally submitted the review for the wrong restaurant via email so just wanted to correct that mistake, the experience we had was very nice !
