The Nags Head - Newcastle

I wanted to try the nags vegan menu since I learned from him, it's great to see more newy places really upping their game! the previous reviews published here have outdated menus, so I think that the menu may be seasonal. I was disappointed that the nachos and some other dishes were not available. I had the vegan bruschetta (entree size) and the vegan schnitzel w/ king avo topper. the order with the QR code on the table was confusing, as the online vean menu was incompatible with its descriptions and "vg" marking. for e.g. the standard bruschetta 12) and the vegan bruschetta 14) both had the exact same description listing cream feta and a w for vegetarian labeling. for such an extensive vegan menu, I might have expected that they use a nut-based cheese or similar, but it took place with avocado. when I wanted to decide whether the Parmi Cup or the king avot for my vegan carving, I looked at the standard carving to get the description of the tupfer to inform my choice. also the vegan version was not what I expected and I felt a little underwhelmed, so I asked the staff for more finishing sauce that made them happy without price added. the steamed vegetables were undercooked, but it doesn't matter to me to go on the raw side. chips were good. out of curiosity, I took out the physical vegan menu after eating came out, and both dishes were 100.% as described on it. I recommend the use of the physical vegan menu for your choice and order from the counter. no photos of those I ordered, unfortunately. I was too hungry. very generous portions but, very typical pub bistro served and prices. updated by previous review on 2021-12-01

Pleasantly surprised by the choice of vegan options. there is a dedicated vegan menu with more than many options to choose from. fries with veganaise wedges with vegan sour cream garlic brot pizza vegan nachos vegan aubergine carving vegan pizza and much more! I had the vegan auberginenschnitzel and loved it! the side said could have been a bit more interesting, but the only suggestion I have. my man has swallowed his vegan nachos and my 2 children loved their fries with veganaise. If we're ever back in it, we'll be back!

Enjoy them lunch amazing to have so much choice for a change

So far I’ve had the Korean kimchi dish, the mock schnitzel and the tacos. All pretty tasty but have given 3 stars due to the price. They also have vegan cheese, sour cream and aioli which is great. I’ll update further when I try more of the starters

It actually gets a 10 out of 5 as the staff are friendly and very approachable.... The feed was huge and tasted so good, it's that big I had to get a doggy bag so I could enjoy the rest at home. The atmosphere is relaxing and venue is really attractive with sections for your liking
