Vanessa's Dumpling House

Milk tea was made from tea bags rather than loose leaves, and so was less authentic. The dough of the bun was a bit too thick for our taste as well, and the dumplings were frozen rather than fresh.Food: 3/5

These dumplings are not what Vanessas dumplings used to be! Reheated, gummy and expensive dumplings... i miss the original ones

I felt compelled to come back to Yelp to warn everyone what has happened to this Vanessa's locations. I've been going to Vanessa's since 2005 and I started visiting this outpost in 2019 while working in fidi. Solid lunch special deal and everything was made to order. Before today I hadn't been here since end of 2021. OH MY GOD. They were just closed last week for a redesign and something went HORRIBLY wrong. 1) they got rid of the lunch special and have a much smaller menu 2) NOTHING IS FRESHLY MADE. MY DUMPLING WERE STRAIGHT UP TAKEN OUT OF A HEAT BOX??? 3) THEY WERE GUMMY. THE DOUGH looked smooth like for a ravioli and GUMMY. STUCK TO EACH OTHER GUMMY. I'm pretty sure I just ate raw dough for $10 Do NOT come to this location until they bring back... fresh boiled and fried dumplings. An absolute insult to the OG Vanessa's.

Small dumpling shop inside a market in the financial district. It is a to-go place with a seating area by the entrance. Dumplings are $6.88 so fair price and they’re very authentic. The Peking duck sandwich is a creative twist to a classic dish.

Amazing, fresh and authentic with a spicy kick. Love the dumplings reminds me of home. Reasonably priced and great value. Love this hidden gem.
