This continues to be the finest butcher in the city. Specializing in Eastern European delicacies, my family has remained steadfastly loyal because of there superior products and attention to quality.
My favorite NYC butcher shop for the decades i lived on 2nd Avenue. My child grew up eating hunks of sausage and candy from the counter men, and I still order their outrageously tasty kielbasa years later.
I just picked up my bone in ham there is no better place for ham anywhere. The raspberry tart, the babka, the hot mustard it's all good. I am so happy this iconic place is back after the hiatus. They are also magnificent at customer service and extremely professional. A packed store today with a pre Easter crowd shows the loyalty to this special special place.
Living in Wyoming, I don 't have a source for the kind of traditional sausages that I remember from my childhood. East Village 's kielbasa more that meets expectations. It has the old world taste that can 't be matched by local merchants. It is wonderful. The customer service is great. I only wish that I could shop at the store in person. I look forward to trying other products.
