We ordered meatball and salmon tartare for appetizers. Then main was lamb chop and scallops. Lastly was two desserts; one was creamy cheese cake and the banana pudding. We trust their judgement and They do great birthday celebrations with music and flairs-well done!
I'd love to say it was stellar or moderately close to it. Aesthetically, it's tired. Artificial flowers everywhere. Lighting too bright. Servers unfriendly and many only interested in talking to each other. Couldn't get water filled three times. Nothing intimate or memorable about the night. The hostesses were the highlight, inviting and cheery and deserve five stars. It ended there. An expensive dinner that wasn't worth it. Back of menu has $89 prix fixe. May be the better way to go.Eggplant and zucchini Parmigiana appetizer tasted sour and was barely warm. Not sure why I didn't send it back.We wanted an order of bread but at $29 for two pp I couldn't bite that bullet.Spaghetti was al dente, meatballs had good flavor and were moist. Sauce was very good, simple, chunky and not enough. Big dollop of ricotta.Three scallop entree with cannellini beans was under whelming and too spicy for my liking. Also, not warm enough.Dessert was good, chocolate cake between three ice cream flavors and loads of hot fudge.
I am totally shocked by the average reviews of this place because I thought it was phenomenal. The decor inside and outside of this restaurant makes it seem like you're drinking and dining in a nice valley in Italy, and the service is so friendly! My group all got the special dish of the night the squid ink pasta with lobster and I almost finished the entire plate even though the servings were generous. I'm never a huge chocolate cake fanatic but the seven layer cake here was so rich and delicious. It was definitely not a cheap dish though.
This was our first visit since Covid, and it felt quite different. Extremely rushed and not at all the vibe it used to have. The restaurant was more than half empty so no need for the rapid fire pace. The food was good, nothing exceptional. The restaurant is as pretty as ever. I had not even settled in , still removing my coat when the waiter started asking if we wanted cocktails, wine, type of water.....Servers were hovering and ready to remove plates before the fork went down. As one waiter took away our dessert plates, another dropped the cheque.....
