Helen's Sausage House - Smyrna

They are famous for a reason. I like to tell my husband it’s “home made fast food” and that is a compliment!! A lot of their traffic comes from blue collar people. People who just want a quick, delicious, and satisfying home made breakfast. Hellens is just that. I’m 26 and grew up on Hellen’s sausages, may Hellen herself rest in peace. I wish nothing but the best for the people who take on her and midges legacy. Hellen’s will always be a famous landmark of Delaware and even more, she brings pride to the Smyrna/townsend community!

This place is a classic. Must place stop for a breakfast meal. Expect to wait in line for your breakfast sandwich .... they are that good.

Just happened on this spot. I was in the area looking for some local cuisine. If you're in the Dover, DE area. I highly suggest you stop at Helen's. All I can say is that I regret not buying more.

I am not from the East Coast. Actually, from the Chicago land area. One day, I saw Helen 's on my way to Dover and on my way back. The Name Helen 's Sausage House caught my eye. What really caught my eye was the part Famous Sausage. I was inspired to make my way back to Helen 's. I am glad I did. I could see and now taste why it 's called Helen 's Sausage House. Home Of Famous Sausages!!! I got there in time before the line got to long. Yes, the long line was outside after I finished my double sausage, egg, and cheese sandwich. The Elvis Memorabilia on the walls where I sat to eat was cool.

If you're from Delaware and have never been to Helen's, are you really from Delaware? Great atmosphere with delicious food. Update: I low-key (high-key) miss the old look of the place
