The food was flavourless and poorly presented. The mens entree of Calamari was small, shrivelled and dry. The mushroom ball entree was gigantic but no taste of mushrooms, flavourless. My seafood calamari, fish ( what fish), scallops were dark brown and so dry. The Brandy Alexander was pure cream with the sniff of alcohol. Plus they did not have the full meal menu and also the bar did not have its full bar menu. We are locals and it is a handy place to eat. I have previously eaten there over the years and it has been ok. With the prices they charge you expect very good food. It was a week night with only a few diners but it should not make a difference. All I ask is make it a great restaurant, its all there just not coming out of the kitchen.
Just a short drive into the Gold Coast Hinterland brings you to the Town and Country Motel in Nerang. My group was there recently just for our Christmas luncheon get together in the restauarant. A lovely 2 course Christmas meal turkey/ ham vegetables or salmon / vegetables with Christmas pudding / mini pavlovas was on special for $25.00. One could also pick from their usual lunch menu with good prices. Our meals were delicious and well presented. Friendly staff looked after our group well.Town and Country Motel is a smallish venue but nevertheless well worth considering. On main road through Nerang to interior Gold Coast. Plenty of parking. Air conditioning appreciated for a very hot day.
Nice eatery with a lovely vista. Prices are a tad pricey, but the meal is worth it. There was a guy playing a guitar that was excellent. Found the service very slow.
We visited after another restaurant had lost our booking for my father's 79th birthday. Despite having limited staff (which they advised before accepting our booking) they delivered the best possible service to us and our 10 guests. The food was all excellent; not a complaint at the table. And the value was amazing. The specials were very affordable and delicious. We all had a wonderful evening and I can't thank the restaurant and staff enough for turning a poor beginning into a wonderful night.
My husband and I were lucky enough to secure a babysitter so described on this restaurant as we had heard the food was good. We looked at the online menu and it had a good selection. We also had an entertainment book voucher to use. From the moment we arrived the service was poor. The kid was very inexperienced and had no idea what he was doing. The menu was completely different to the online menu and it was so limited and noting that it was hard to choose. Thankfully the food was good. The service continued to be poor with not even one return after seating and meal delivery to see if we needed more drinks or our meal was ok. Then as we went to pay we were told the restaurant had new owners and they weren't going to honour our entertainment book voucher. We were then told there was a sign on the door - which was open when we can in AND the fact there was torrential rain the night we arrived we did not linger to read signs on the door. I said that wasn't a good way to operate as a new owner and that I would be complaining and the girl behind the till said 'yeah, they know people will complain and they don't care'. I had recommended your venue previously to out of town visitors coming here to do the Kokoda trail. Won't be doing that again and I will not be going back!
