Succotash - National Harbor

The quality of the food was very good. I did not enjoy the Korean spices. If you love this spice palate, you will have a great experience. If deviating from the normal spices of comfort food, this restaurant, as wonderful as everything else was, is not a good fit. The cornbread was great, but the spice in the honey drizzle was a drawback. The cheesy grits and sausage gravy was excellent and was the only thing I found that I could truly enjoy.

We were not impressed on our 1st meal there but has gotten better every time since (we are locals). I don't like that things have gotten sweeter yet it's southern. We will go back.

Though the restaurant was fairly empty when we arrived at 1pm on 7/5/24, the hostess seemed a bit perplexed about where to seat us (2 people with a reservation). We asked for an indoor table, since it was quite hot outside, so she first showed us to an outside table, then realizing she was outside, sat us at an inside table right next to a table of 4 women having a very energetic and loud conversation. When we asked our waitress if we could move to a table a bit further away from that friendly crowd (there were at least 8 empty tables in that area), she offered a table just on the other side of the noisy group. We asked again for an empty table a bit further way, and we were finally moved to that table. Food was mediocre. Had the Cobb salad, which had a large junk of chicken on top, not cut up (as it usually is in a Cobb salad. Field greens were not de-stemmed. My friend did not find her chicken sandwich to be very good. All in all, doubt I will go back.

Love this restaurant. Food is amazing and the service is great. Highly recommend the catfish. If you are looking for a nice combo of southern with an Asian flair this is the restaurant for you. Great ambience and perfect for any type of celebration.

Delicious food and great service! Especially enjoyed the branzini, gush of the day. The oysters were great as was the Mac and cheese and collard greens. Do gave the hummingbird cake.
