McLoone's Pier House National Harbor

The evening started off well with appetizers and drinks, but went downhill from there when our dinner took over 45 minutes to arrive. We ultimately had to leave without our food, but Sharonda, the manager, was amazing and comped our appetizers while apologizing profusely. We also enjoyed our interaction with Don, the bartender, which helped salvage the night from being a complete disaster. The appetizer was good, but we wish we had been able to enjoy our main course as well.

McLoone's is a wonderful spot to experience the flavors, atmosphere, and culture of Maryland. The seafood, including decadent crab-filled shrimp and salmon, as well as delicious salads, is outstanding. It's a great place to gather with friends for a satisfying meal or to introduce visitors from the city to Maryland's culinary offerings.

I made a reservation for four and everything was prepared when we arrived. The waitress was friendly and attentive. The food was exceptionally delicious. The only complaint was that the duck arrived before we had finished our appetizers. The restaurant was not very crowded, so there was no rush. They had a nice variety of wines available by the glass. My meal was exactly as I had expected - delicious and perfectly cooked. None of us in our group of four had any complaints about our meals, although the fish of the day portion was quite large. Overall, we would definitely return to this restaurant.

McLoones overall was nice for a week day date night. The manager was attentive to the patrons. Food was tasty and the portion size was just right. Our server was okay she said she was not feeling well and it showed. Overall I would go back again maybe for happy hour with friends.

We enjoyed a restaurant week three-course dinner. The service was very friendly and both our server and the manager handled an awkward situation extremely well. The day after the Super Bowl the restaurant's wine and liquor order had not been delivered. We ordered a bottle of wine they did not have in stock three different times. On the third, the manager came to the table with the server to apologize and explain. He offered to give us a glass of something else to try before getting a bottle. It's how a difficult situation is handled that sometimes defines excellent customer service. We loved the multi-ethnic groups who enjoyed dining there that night. A+!
