The menu is very limited, but all the better for it best steak I have...eaten for years, perfectly cooked, served with roquefort sauce, diced carrots in butter as an amuse bouche, excellent ratatouille, an olive tapenade, and tagliatelle. Excellent value for money, good honest wine in pichets, good coffee, unfortunately not enough room to tackle the crepes for sweet, will try to starve for a day or two before the next time. Charming host speaking perfect English. Thoroughly recommended.
La Taverne de L 'isle is a place you will never forget. When you eat inside you feel like a knight. You can drink from an iron cup and you 'll sit on a royal chair. The atmosphere is very unique. When you eat outside you can...sit in a lovely garden, surrounded by walls. Cosy feeling, romantic lights, just perfect. Only for those facts you should go and check it out. The restaurant is owned by two people, a lovely lady Florence and her husband. They really enjoy cooking and serving people. The husband cooks and Florence will gladly help you to pick a good wine or choose a fine dessert. Again: everything is homemade! They go every morning to the market to pick their meat/fruits/vegetables. Florence makes the dessert. We ate some wonderful melon pie and a plate with cheese. Before that I took le plat du jour , it was orloffchicken with grilled potatoes and my boyfriend ate the salmon, grilled on a BBQ. SO GOOD! The salmon was perfectly cooked, it had the right cuisson, so jummy. On top of everything, the people who owe the restaurant are the friendliest. You feel like home, they treat you very well. Our favourite so far!
Super restaurant to eat a simple but delicious cuisine! In the heart of the narbonne, this little garden corner is really great! We eat well for cheap and the owners are really nice! I took the duck jam that was really good! However, I advise to arrive early or to book for a table, because the places are quickly taken!I strongly advise!
Attracted to this garden area in the heart of the historic centre, we were not disappointed. friendly welcome, homemade dishes and very well cooked for a very affordable price. A good moment of relaxation!
Beautiful location, with two large trees and three beautiful cats. the owner (at home in many languages) is also fun - it has a sense of vivid humor and is very compelling about my conservative English tastes. the menu is short - you can have meat, duck or market fish and a dish of the day. It is beautifully cooked and served fully garnished. the wines are well chosen, the neighbor is a fine jazz pianist and our evening was an absolute pleasure. How happy to escape the enregiment of restaurants and to sit in a real garden.
