Thai cuisine is excellent, you have to ignore the soil that sticks a little and not be pressed, nothing is prepared in advance! I regularly recommend the Thai basil shrimp or beef with gluant rice, their spring roll are fresh and divine!
Very good surprise in this Thai Vietnamese restaurant that does not pay a mine from the outside. a good welcome, a refined and delicious cuisine. only bemol , there was a little waiting because full restaurant.
I recently ate at this small back street restaurant close to Rue Paul Belamy in Nantes. It's a small restaurant, and seems to be run by the elderly owner and a lady, (probably his wife) who seems to do the cooking. From the outside, it really doesn't look much, and inside the decor is a throwback to the 1980s. However, there is a really good menue with plenty of things to choose from, and if you don't know what any item is, the owner will explain it for to you. He is gracious, kind and really helpful. For my main course, I had a prawn dish, I don't remember its name, but it came piping hot and was totally delicious. I was completely surprised at the amount and at the size of the king prawns that came with the dish, which was beautifully cooked. I did have a starter which was very good, and for desert I had a lemon water ice which was clearly home made and tasted delicious - it went fizz in your mouth. I could have happily eaten another one, but decided it was too late in the evening to eat any more than I already had. If you are in Nantes, do go and try it for yourself, it is well worth a visit and very well worth the price.
Having walked past this little restaurant over several days, I finally decided to go in as in was cold and I was hungry. From the outside it doesn't look much, and when you get in the decor is like a flash back to the late 1980s. However, the standard of food, and the customer service are both absolutely first class. The restaurant serves Vietnamese and Thai food, and the owner, an older gentleman, takes the time to talk you through any dishes you're not familiar with. Food is prepared whilst you wait so it does take a little longer, but it is most definitely worth the wait. It comes piping hot, and beautifully cooked. You are not rushed or hurried, and the entire evening is an experience not to be missed. Pre-booking seems not to be essential, although if you don't, you may have to wait for a table. If you don't know what a dish is, the owner will explain it to you before you decide whether to order or whether to go for something else. Really friendly and excellent but not intrusive customer service.
