They also sell a number of great products direct and we highly recommend their smoked Salmon. Love the family leadership and culture of the company. We will be fans for life!
We have been buying and having fish processed at St Jeans for years. Was shocked today when I brought my fish in to be processed. I couldn't believe the rudeness and disrespect of the middle aged lady that served me. For no reason whatsoever she had an awful scowl on her face like I shouldn't be there doing business. If that was my employee I would've never had her on the front line dealing with customers. What a way to lose business! I have been overall very happy with the finished product that St Jean's supplies. And have had great service over the years as well. You will have much better luck dealing with the younger people at the front end. In the future I will make sure that if she approaches me I'll tell her that I would prefer to deal with someone other than her. Up until today this would have been a five star review. Sadly she got in the middle.
I received a basket of goodies as a gift and inside was a tin of St. Jean's smoked sockeye salmon. This is far and away the best tinned salmon that I have ever eaten. It was delicious and so flavourful. I'm looking forward to trying more of their products.
I love their product. Have used them for years. That being said it the only depot on Vancouver Island, I've got 300 cans of tuna to be picked up, I live in Victoria. Why on freaking earth would you be closed on a frecking Saturday?????? So I have to take a day off work to pick up my fish that cost $950 freaking dollars to get smoked and canned. Like ferkin seriously??? Get your act together St. Jeans, do better. You obviously can afford to have one or two people available one day of the weekend so out of town folks that paid big money to do business with you can pick up their products that took waaaay longer than ever to get back. Our total bill was close to $5000 freaking dollars. Do better St.Jeans this will probably be the last time we do business with you... ??
This company probably could beat any record for worst customer service ever.They lost my entire custom-smoking order 3 years ago (my previous review below), but they did eventually replace that fish with own spring salmon stock. So in November 2022 I dropped another ~25lib of fish for smoking. Bad idea! Now, 4 months later to (not so much) surprise, they cannot locate my order again! Consistently with their customer-care style they also promised me to call back at least 7 times in the last month, with not a single call made. The fish is gone, the St. Jean 's is consistent.in October 2020 I left 60 pounds of salmon for smoking with St Jean 's. All my seasonal catch... And this fish is simply gone. During last 2 months I made dozens of calls to them, spoke to 4 different persons at St. Jean, left countless messages and I could not track my order, could not get any definite answers. Zero customer support, zero accountability. They are only good a smoking clients ' time and money.
