The ravioli and it is sauce was to die for a must try for all the pasta lovers Calzone didnt certainly like it. It was doughy less in sauce n dry for me. Again the stir fry and the fried ice cream were really good. A must try place for all the pasta lovers
Ambiance is awesome..each and everything about the interior is nice but the food was pathetic not at all worth the price and even the quantity was less.
Shijims kitchen...name suggest that it might be some Chinese restaurant....but it is a full blown casual dining.Bar is not there because of the new rule of 500mtrs. It is a roof top restaurant in the plush locality of Sadar surrounded by many good restaurants around but shijims kitchen stand out in all in all of them on two points 1st being a semiopen rooftop restaurant 2nd the unique rustic ambience they have created.talking more about the ambience being a roof top restaurant it is having three sections rather three apparently divided sections, one is when you enter a more of casual sitting say may be for afternoon cafe, then a mid section which is a cosy dining place from where you can see the kitchen live which is very artistically made, and third section I suppose is a inside section which I couldn't see I think it is a covered section . The sitting arrangement is cosy and have rustic look to it the music is good just to make you feel that the place is busy. the lights are more of yellow in nature than white making the ambience more rustic. Talking about the menu ,the menu is a large one and is more for the carnivore friends, the menu designed is a bit odd because the vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes are all written together with no seperate columns creating confusion among people. the menu has got a lot of unconventional dishes which we don't find in other restaurants, and of it was panvadi panner which read as betel leaf and gulkand infused in panner ,it sounded interesting and I ordered it BUT the captain said he can't make it available as there was some problem with the gulkand, couldn't believe it that on a Saturday evening u can be turned down for an innovative dish which can become an USP of the restaurant. We ordered soups ,the minestrone and tomato with lemon leaf which was good in taste and had a better presentation. The other starter we ordered were Bhatti panner tikka and morrocon cheese spring rolls,Bhatti paneer tikka was just like any other tikka you eat but the quality of panner was ok was a bit firm, while morrocon cheese spring roll was also ok ok because the outer covering of the spring roll was not that crispy ,but it gained some marks on the presentation of the dish which was served in shot glasses with mayonnaise. Coming to the main course we ordered a paneer dish with subz miloni which was good but again the paneer were not soft they were a bit firm. The tandoori rotis were very thick and hence were a bit under cooked in tandoor.the lachha paratha was good as I specifically told them to make it crisp. The dal was just like any other dal...also the jeera rice. The masala papad was lacking the tanginess in the masala. In the dessert we had sizzling brownie nothing to talk much about it. We were six people total and effective eaters were three and a half so for all of us the quantity of food seemed fine rather we were left with food,we demanded to get it packed but the staff refused it because they said that the kitchen was closed. For effective eaters we had a bill of say 3000odd bucks which was according me much expensive. About the service the waiters and staff are good hardworking and they keep u informed about the service. The service is Also good some dishes take time but the way of presentation makes it more accommodative. I would say shijims kitchen for 1st time I had mixed reviews but surely it has got a good vibe to it and has a lot of potential to be a popular restaurant. .
