The menu was surprisingly chock a block with quintessential malayalee delicacies, from Pazhampori to Parotta and what caught my eye was Kallumakaya (mussels). I've never eaten Kallumakaya at a restaurant here in Madras, and was excited on trying it out. We'd ordered Kerala parotta, Beef Varutharachath, Kallumakaya roast, Beef Biryani. The Parotta was crisp and flaky. The curry was well spiced but not spicy. The parotta had soaked up all the gravy and the beef was soft. The biryani was wonderful, reminded me of what I get back home The rice was light, the masala was a bit spicy and had a bit of sweetness from the onions. Kallumakaya was the surprise of the day. It was fresh, a bit sweet, soft (not chewy) and the masala was very good. All in all a wonderful meal with quick and efficient and homely service. Will definitely visit again.
