Zum Gasteig - Muenchen

The Hotel Hilton Munich City offers the restaurant “Zum Gasteig”. Guests and visitors can enjoy breakfast every day. In addition, a brunch is offered here every Sunday and on many holidays (surcharge). The costs are 39€/person without drinks. For 49€/person all drinks (water, juices, soft drinks, hot drinks, champagne, beer and house wine) are included. In addition, every 1st Friday of the month there is a seafood buffet from 18 22:00 at the price of 49€ incl. Welcome drink. In the past, we were often at the Seafood Buffet to certainly not recommend a bargain and for non-fish lovers. The quality is very good! In a very dense ambience and with a perfect service you feel very comfortable with appropriate dresses. It is greeted with a changing aperitif. Shortly afterwards, a greeting from the kitchen follows, which always had something to do with lobsters or mussels or the like during our visits. The buffet can be served at various stations, depending on the pleasure and mood. Good sushi creations, fresh oysters open in front of the eyes, various fresh fish that are fried in front of their own eyes, a WOK station for crunchy fresh wok vegetables, various ready warm seasonal dishes, a seasonal soup, small smoked fish fields, different fish salads, Frutti di Mare, shrimp with chili and an antipasti and salad... The whole is then rounded with delicious desserts, fruits, cakes and Kaiserschmarrn or the like. We've been there a few times and it's been very good every time. But not only culinary, also from the service, we felt good and perfectly served each time. Goodness didn't work in any way. Only negative point: as soon as the oysters left before 7 p.m. All those who had reserved only from 7 p.m. were disappointed. In itself, we thought that there was no better offer for fish/Seafood buffet in Munich. But then, by an invitation to the “Charles Lindbergh” at Hilton Airport, we also enjoyed the fish buffet there and that was really just WOW! (If you are interested, just read the report). I'm so sorry, but the Hilton Munich City can't stop. This year we were on 25. December to Christmas brunch there. The restaurant was completely occupied up to 2 3 tables and so it was always at small waiting times that were still within the frame. All hot dishes were unfortunately only lukewarm. The selection of the appetizers I found delicious, but very one-sided, there were many terrins and smokers. Shrimps or the like existed only in one salad and it was constantly empty. Unfortunately, in the cooking station there is always an eternally long snake and thus clearly too long waiting time. The dessert buffet was great, there was no wish open. Overall, the quality and taste was good and of course you also became tired. But there's some air up here too. From service everything is perfect – from welcome, service at the table to numbers and adoption.
