I had a terrible experience at this restaurant. The Doner (Gyro Pita) was severely lacking in lettuce, tomato, and onion. The meat was both cold and burnt, and there was very little of it for the price they were charging. It seemed like they had used leftovers from the day before and barely managed to scrape together enough for a full gyro. I was extremely disappointed. The only redeeming qualities were the French fries and the appetizer I ordered, which was cheese wrapped in phyllo dough.
Amazing and fresh. Wish the hummus had a little more zing.
Very nice to accommodate my gluten sensitivity and remove Bulgar from my chicken shish kabob plate. The food was great and my husband loved his lamb kabobs as well.
Not what we were expecting to find in this corner of Long Island! A quaint and family-friendly restaurant, Mavi Grill serves delicious concoctions of both meat and vegetables, both prepared and served in an assortment of ways (over three different preparations of lamb! . The service is a bit slow but courteous and friendly, and the food (a Turkish/ Mediterranean medley is authentic, with even sumac (that tart and fantastic spice sprinkled on the salad. Highly recommended, even for vegetarians, who will not be disappointed by the bean, eggplant and other alternative dishes.
