The fish for seniors was average, unfortunately the cream of vegetables soup was not that nice, especially on a cold day a hearty vegetable soup would have been nice. The lamb shank was average. Not your top end of pub food.
Full of characters local and interplanetry Cheapish drinks Quick curtious service Decent pub grub wuth good veggo options We enjoyed
A quiet Monday, called in for lunch and met by a very charming young lady, Georgia, who was not only very helpful, but was obviously proud of the food being served. When asked about a particular dish, she was more than happy to go into detail as to how it was prepared, without the usual heavy sighs and rolling of the eyes. Georgia had time for her guests and was more than willing to help.We ordered two seniors meals, and were pleasantly surprised at the size and quality served. There is no problem in recommending this hotel for both its staff attitude and/or the quality of the food....Thank you Georgia for a pleasant luncheon...will see you again.
We arrived late but they served us anyway. Had an Eggplant Parma which was amazing. Partner had atlantis chicken which is chicken salmon and creamy asparagus. Both served with generous salads and the usual mountain of chips ( which we don't eat) service was very good and beer was cold.
Went for a Friday evening drink, with a view to perhaps returning for a meal but I found the atmosphere to be rather sterile and impersonal. The bar area was neither the warm & inviting nor brimming with local charm. Enough room for the few regulars to make themselves comfortable, otherwise a small table & chair sat awkwardly against the front wall. Maybe more stools & tall tables were missing, I can't be sure but it didn't seem right. The pokies area nearby seemed to be a focus, though that didn't interest me. It's probably a place better suited to those wanting to have a punt via the TAB facility or a spin in the gaming area. There just wasn't much else to make you feel embraced by what is a grand old place.
