I don't know why I always continue to go to the Keg.
We decided to visit Moret-Sur-Loing based on many accurate descriptions of it being a charming village. Auberge de la Terrace is one of the few hotels that pops up on traditional search engines & the places on French travel sites were booked solid when I looked. Like other travelers note the hotel is dated - very simple rooms - old beds but comfortable & we got a great nights sleep.Thin carpeting & no design features to speak of. Tling in the bathrooms showing it's age but water gets good & hot and strong water pressure. Rooms are overall adequate but not appealing. At 90E a night it's a bit overpriced but they can get it because the location is to die for & half of the rooms have a lovely riverview. The restrauant is fine - not exceptional. The menu of the day is priced at $19 E for two courses or $23 E for three courses but the options are somewhat modest (whiting, sausage, grilled pork), traditional rich sauces. Well prepared - no presentation to speak of. House wines in carafes are quite good. Young attentive wait staff. Great river views from dining room. Very quiet.
We were the only guests, and were seated by the window overlooking the flowing Loing river. Decor a little dated, but clean and welcoming. Excellent service. Three menus at 23 euros each + a great Brouilly. A pleasant and quiet lunch.
