We loved this place so much that we ate here twice during our trip. All the food is extremely tasty and the prices are comparable to other restaurants, but the food here is much superior. I highly recommend their toqueras, uchepos, enchiladas, arrachera, etc. they also have a full bar and pretty good drinks. They have a cute courtyard if you prefer outdoor dining. This restaurant is about two blocks behind the Cathedral in the city center.
Well, I'd love to talk about the food at this restaurant, BUT ... Let me explain. I live just 4-5 doors up the street from this restaurant. I went in for the first time a few days ago. A weekday, after the lunch crowd had departed. In fact, about 4 minutes after we arrived and sat at a table on the patio, a few other parties had departed. WE WERE THE ONLY ONES SITTING IN THE ENTIRE RESTAURANT!!!!! We did get menus (LOL , but that was it. No service, no visits to the table, no one asking if we had questions, no one interested in taking our order! Sooooooo, we assumed (and I think rightfully so that since we were the ONLY table occupied in the entire restaurant (inside AND out!!! that .... we weren't welcome. LOL So we left. Bottom line: If you go, good luck!
Located in the beautiful Plaza de Rosas, this was a nice place for lunch. Had a really good sopa Tarasca, a soup everyone serves in Michoacan. It was quite tasty! My wife had a frog leg soup, but it came with only one frog leg. But it tasted good!
I recently took a bunch of friends to enjoy authentic regional food, this dishes are typical from the tierra caliente region in Michoacan. If you are a food lover and appreciate authenticity this is a place you don't want to miss. Hand made tortillas fresh prepared, For a group I would recommend you try the buffet style so you can sample a variety of dishes. The service is friendly but they don't have enough waiters and can be slow at times. Major credit cards accepted and its conveniently located in the heart of downtown Morelia
A comida at Fonda Marceva was a low point in our recent stay in Morélia. My wife's order of pollo crema was a stringy matter, and my order of a Milanese was no better. Poor selection of beers. Service was barely polite. Not recommended.
