We had the recommendation of the concierge at our hotel but we had a terrible experience. The food I found to be okay, not poor, not good, but just unremarkable. Anybody familiar with Swiss Chalet that came I would imagine would look at this as a much more expensive version of it.What I'm sure affected the experience the most though was the terrible service we received. The waiter seemed to be inconvenienced by customers being there and it was reflected in their service, or lack thereof. On top of this the food took almost an hour to come out. This was after ordering immediately on arrival and with very few other customers there. We were just about to pay for our now long empty drinks, as the waiter never came around again, and leave for a fast food location across the street when the food finally came out. As hungry as we were at this point I would have imagined it should have tasted better. It did not. looking at the other review and such this may have been a one off for us but it was bad enough I don't think we'll try it again. If the food was great we might have given it another shot.
We were a group of 18 people! super welcome, right away from the tables for us, could have been sitting together! It's time to get there, but it helps. The menu is very good and to the height of our expectations, we did not have time restrictions. at the restaurant madison, we couldn't sit together and they gave us 1:30 to eat! short, only negative point: we are offered such and such accompaniment with our dishes without telling us that there is a supplement. For example, I took the fries of sweet potatoes and had a $1.50 mark-up on my bill. You have to notify customers when there are supplements to pay!
We went here for dinner the night we went up to tour around the Bell Centre as this restaurant is next door. While driving through Quebec we noticed there was a crazy amount on St Hubert's and made a point to stop at one. These restaurants are like Tim Hortons in the Maritimes. They seem to be every 5 kms on the highway. We all loved our meals and the chicken sauce is awesome. It's a step up from Swiss Chalet. Great spot.
I love St-Hubert's chicken. No trip to Quebec is complete with at least one meal at one of their places (preferably a resto-bar). This time, I had a last-second craving for piri-piri chicken, and they delivered promptly to my hotel.
Well located, same "standard" St-Hubert food quality. Excellent place if you visit downtown Montreal. Also Recommended with kids. Enjoy.
