Bubba Gump Shrimp - Monterey

Eating here is really good and the drinks are amazing! the personal is friendly and very attentive.

We booked here on Saturday morning to get a table for the evening. Good Choice as were told the wait was 3 hours when we went to register. We were seated 20 minutes after our reservation. The main positive is the position overlooking the bay. We had an outside table bayside. The heaters were on as it was a cool evening The food is ok, no frills, no tastes to take your breath away but perfectly OK.

March 21st 2022 at around 4.30pm checked in at Bubba Gump in Monterey. We were told a 30 minute wait and that they would text my husband when ready for us. After waiting about 50 minutes I went to ask if we had missed the text. The lady said no but it will be soon. About 10 minutes later the lady came to us (we were waiting outside) and said that they had texted us 10 minutes before and that we were about to lose our spot. My husband was upset and showed them his phone there was no text or phone call or message whatsoever. The manager came out and was very unpleasant with us. We did not get a text. After that the service was ok and the food ok although not the calamari (don't order it At 8.20pm that day my husband got the text from them (they close at 8pm Of course it could have been a phone company issue but the hostess and manager did not have to be so unpleasant about it. Honestly the food is mediocre and quite expensive. We are not going to this restaurant again. There are plenty of better places in Monterey.

I love this place it feels like home and the food is delicious ?

The first Bubba Gumps we ever visited has become our Monterey tradition. We have eaten here at least a dozen times over the years and it has always been a great experience. Great food, great service, incredible views of the bay.
