I went at 8:00, and the place was almost empty... only a group of 3 others and me. When it's in the forest near Walldorf, I guess the crowd comes earlier for outdoor dining. You have made something interesting with the traditional Cordon-Bleu: you have variations in meat, cheese and other ingredients. For example, I had a autumn Cordon Bleu, which was wrapped around ham and cheese, but with additional herbs and mushrooms inside. Others include Hirsch Cordon bleu, Wildschwein Cordon bleu, Cordon bleu bleu (you can guess) and six or so other variations. Really excellent. No English spoken here.
We went with a large group (8 people) and sat outside in the beautiful garden. Reservation of a table is at least a must if you want to sit in the area that offers table service. Food was a lot and very nice. Come back.
We stay in and out of Germany. Our hotel is literally a beautiful walk from the restaurant next to a small stream. They have a beer garden outside and a beautiful restaurant inside, along with a wonderful cellar dating back centuries. We like the cellar as he has an interesting feeling, and it's usually quiet. If the weather is warm, the beer garden is beautiful. Good old-style food, including local specialties. Nothing beautiful, just a nice old neighborhood type of space.
Hidden jewel in front of Frankfurt. Wide range of food and beer. They also serve their own nano-brew camp and amber! Very attentive service. Very affordable! Always being a treat here!
Born in frankfurt-sachsenhausen i grew up in mörfelden and the gundhof in the summer was always a heavenly place to spend a few hours under old plane trees with applewine and the usual local hessen treats like handkäs or rippchen just to name two. service can be slow when the beergarden is full but it gets crowded in the summer with cyclists. very relaxing
