La Morenita - Modesto

Always love coming here! The service is great and the food is delicious and consistent! Like to sit in the bar area great drinks!

I took my dad here after a doctors appointment The garlic shrimp appetizer was delicious. Their chips and salsa was good. I ordered a taco combo plate. I was not impressed with the taco. Taco meat which was asada tasted old. The rice and beans were ok. In the end, the main attraction was just ok. For being the original La Morenita's, I expected a little more wow factor.

Don't like this restaurant at all, I've had a lot of Mexican food growing up (I'm hispanic) and this place is definitely bad. they're one of the only mexican food restaurants in the area which probably explains why they're still open. I also had a bad experience with the service, I ordered my food then went back and added a drink and it came out to 5$ just for a cup to get soda from the fountain. Terrible prices here.

I've always ordered the wedding burrito it's been a while since we've eaten here and today I realized why. They changed the sauce on it and it's just not the same. Won't come back!

So first I would like to say I have been coming to this restaurant for years. Unfortunately I will never go back! My son has a gluten and shellfish allergy. I explained this to the waitress because I wanted to order him tacos to take home. She brought me my food and assured me everything was gluten free. I got home and out of the 4 tacos two were flour tortillas. I called and let them know and they said it was impossible because they only have burrito size flour tortillas! Excuse me but that is a straight up lie, I order them with fajitas all the time. Like I'm so stupid that I couldn't possibly identify a flour tortilla !!! That's fine, there is definitely better Mexican food in Modesto than La Mornita. By the way this is the taco hope you can identify it! Absolutely ridiculous
