The incredible thing is that it has been so for at least 3 decades. Almost all other restaurants of its vintage and status either no longer exist or have simply plummeted in quality. Tonight I had the French onion soup which is simply better than any other Toronto restaurant I have had it in. I ordered the smallest fillet mignon which was more than enough for me (6oz) and really fresh and very well cooked. My wife had the seafood linguini which she liked but could not come close to finishing. The portions are very generous here.
We have been coming to Zorro's for at least 25 years and it continues to be the best food quality and wonderful staff. We now life outside of Toronto but each time we visit the area this is a must go to for dinner. We have never had a bad meal and have tried everything on the menu. The prices are a little high but the quality and about served is well worth the price.
I've been to zorros a few times in my life but I always seem to forget how great the food, service, and value is. it is on the higher end for price but the portions are extremely large. I spent slightly less than I did at Bardi's a couple weeks ago but much more than a place like the Keg. BUT, the food is exceptional and the proportions justify the extra amount. Service is great. They have been in business for years despite being in a less than optimal location (by airport and industrial park.) Their food and service is the reason. local area may not be that attractive but it's definitely worth the drive. If you are in the Brampton area, you can also pick up $100 gift certificates for $80 at Costco and they don't limit how many you can use so you can make it even more affordable.
Nestled amongst the warehouses and strip clubs in the shadow of Pearson Airport, this classic steakhouse is a great example of old-style luxury. I expected to see Sammy, Dean, and Frank at the next table. More food than you could eat. Excellent halibut dinner had by me. Can't beat the Caesar Salad made at the table.
Three out of four found the scallops overlooked and fishy. The worst part was that after they replaced my son 'S dinner the mature d' came over to argue with us about our criticism. Two of us said that we were okay, because we had ribs and steak. The streak was not as ordered and the ribs although cooked were difficult to eat, they did not fall off the bone. My husbands fillet was fineService was mediocrely .
