Bloomington Chophouse - Minneapolis

One of the best meals we've had in years! We discovered this place when looking for a good celebration restaurant. We ordered the shrimp cocktail to start and it was fantastic! The cocktail sauce was something special but the shrimp was seasoned so well it didn't even need a sauce. We got the prime rib and New York strip as entrees and were blown away! Seriously this might have been the best steak of my life! I love a good glaze or sauce on a steak but this was so flavorful and buttery I barely used the garlic butter I asked for. The garlic butter was a flavor experience of its own! It was so fresh and full of herbs! We ordered the hash browns and brocoolini as our sides. The hash browns were great and surprising for a dinner side but very savory, the broccolini was fresh and crispy with a nice seasoning. We ended with the creme brulee with a maple brown sugar glaze that was the perfect bookend to a delicious meal. We're tequila people and the bar made a great fresh margarita and had a decent tequila selection. I hope I got the names right but a special shout out to McKenna our server who took great care of us and Marcus who was helpful along the way and engaged us in a wonderful chat regarding future events at the restaurant. We'll be back! Again, one of the best meals we've ever had we directly compared to Manny's and this place beats it by a mile!

Very unhappy with the host on duty this evening (9/28/23). I reserved a table online with two friends to celebrate a special event, and we had a reservation for 9:30 p.m. We arrived at the Chophouse at precisely 9:30 p.m. and spoke with the host. He was very brusque, and stated they stopped seating people at 9:30. Despite our reservation being for 9:30, and our arriving on time, he refused to seat us. Quite an unfortunate experience, and I cannot recommend making a later evening reservation here. Perhaps this establishment could consider changing the reservation options online if their potential guests are able to reserve a table for 9:30, and are then turned away by staff when they arrive on time for said reservation. As we were turned away, I cannot speak to the food or table service. EDIT: Previously 1 star for service. Brittany, the general manager at this location, reached out to me personally today (9/29/23) and communicated with me regarding my friends' and my experience at this location yesterday evening. We've been invited to return to dine here the next time we are in the area, and we plan to give the Chophouse another shot. I appreciate that she took the time to reach out to me and tried to make things right, and I look forward to dining here in the future. I will update this review again after I return and (hopefully) get to experience dining here.

Was here in a business trip last week This restaurant is located in the hotel. We were a large group of about 60 so let's just say the restaurant have their hands full lol. We were basically given a choice between two fish, entrées, and two steak entrées. I chose the New York over the filet mignon. We were served some steak cube appetizers along with some crabcakes. Both were tasty along with the entrée. We were served broccolini and lobster mac cheese. Also both very good. My only complaint was, I felt my steak was a little bit more cook than I had anticipated or asked for. I didn't know when you're serving 65 dinners at the same time it's hard to get it all right. We also get multiple desserts. The staff is very friendly and I would go back.
