Worst experience ever. First, they keep selling themselves as Italian but they aren't! As Italian, this is the first thing that annoys me most. Far away to be Italian...they are german, that is very different! Second: you come here to spend time with your friends and end up standing up alone for 25 min for a simple salad, instead of relaxing and have fun with your friends. Only one guy attending the Salad and Sandwich station: you need to wait ANY single person to order and receive your food before placing your order. I know you are guessing that the lack of table service will make you save money...forget about it, you pay as a regular restaurant with table service, especially here in Mexico where prices are incredibly cheap. Last disappointing thing is the cleanness of the restaurant: very dirty everywhere, from the bathroom (you do the stairs to go there and almost fall, since it's greasy) to the tables. We had to ask twice to get someone to wipe our table.
Bad service. I ordered a salad (Hibiscus). In the middle of the process the guy told me they don’t have beets, if He can put strawberries instead, ok. When he gave me the salad I realized that it wasn’t complete. I told him, and the tomatos? Oh yes he said, ok. I couldn’t see the mint or the basil, I asked him and he told me it has. Once eating I couldn’t find any basil or mint. Besides they don’t have mineral water. St the moment of the payment I spent at least 10 minutes waiting because there wasn’t any cashier. Terrible experience.
Attracted by the allure of seeing fresh pasta being made through the kitchen window, we decided to celebrate a family birthday at Vapiano in Polanco. It's not too pricey, and we really enjoyed the freshly made food, but I can't recommend this for a family meal. If you are not familiar with the concept of this international chain of freshly made Italian fast food (which I wasn't), you need to know that there are no waiters and you queue and order your food directly from one of the chefs. The problem was that the queues vary in length my kids had ordered and finished eating their pizza by the time my wife and I got back to the table with our dishes. Another member of our party ordered starter and main course; unfortunately, because she had to queue and wait for her main course, the starter was cold by the time she got back the table. In short, this family occasion was disappointing as we didn't really get to eat together.
